On Loving Someone with Depression

It is old lesson, but it aches deep in the bone. There isn’t anything one can do. Nothing. No amount of smiles can hold back the dark for your beloved, no amount of laughter can throw a rope down into the abyss for them. All one can do is be there, to simply love. It isn’t enough. But it is something.
